ANTI-POP IS, AS THE NAME SUGGESTS, A MOVEMENT AGAINST POP MUSIC OR MORE ACCURATELY WHAT POP MUSIC HAS BECOME. STYLE IS NOW MORE IMPORTANT THAN SUBSTANCE, POPULAR MUSIC IS NO LONGER WHAT PEOPLE WANT BUT WHAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO HEAR, FROM A LIMITED SELECTION. |
| Throughout history songs have been used to communicate not only love but angst, fear, loathing, desperation, injustice, inspiration and protest. The mass media now promote only the blandest product to appeal to pre-pubescents, the mentally limited and senile. Even the "less" mainstream are only a pretense and are just manufactured boy-bands, with distorted guitars. Pop music has become a blunt weapon, used to beat people's minds into an apathetic coma with a constant onslaught of meaningless drivel. |

Anti-pop
is an attempt to redress this imbalance with issue driven songs, that
are written not to make you think everything is OK ! , as the world
plummets towards self destruction but also to point out how pathetic,
perverse, dangerous and frighteningly stupid the human animal is.
